Abandoned Dog Heroically Saves 10 Newborn Puppies
An abandoned Labrador mix, who has since been rightfully named Hero, has saved ten sick pups and their mom after alerting rescuers and showing them the location of the newborns.
On Tuesday night, the amazing pooch wouldn’t stop barking so rescuer Marina Tarashevsce and dog behaviorist John Miller decided to see what all the fuss was about. After leading them to the woods, the rescuers discovered a litter of 10 sick pups, nearly frozen to death, and their weak mom who has since been named Mona.
Hero had been unwilling to go with rescuers from Dallas Dogrrr-Rescue, Rehab, Reform in Texas until they followed him to a nearby wood where they found the little ones.
Tarashevsce explained to to Fox and Friends Weekend on Sunday that Hero seemed rather upset.
‘When I got there in the evening, Hero was barking really loudly. It wasn’t just a regular bark. He just wouldn’t stop and it sounded like he was in distress of some sort. He led us to a creek by the woods. And we heard little yelping of the puppies, so this is how we found them.’
The 11 rescued dogs have been taken to a loving foster home along with Hero himself, who refuses to leave their side day and night. Dogrrr-Rescue believes that Hero might be the pups’ dad, but this is yet to be confirmed.
