Dogs Can Get Anxious, Too

1

Although not many people are aware that dogs can get anxious, that doesn’t change the fact that our furry friends also battle anxiety.

In order to help your pet, it is necessary to know how to recognize the signs of anxiety in dogs.

Some of the better-known symptoms include pacing or tucking the tail between the legs, but there are also several less obvious signs that resemble normal dog behavior.

The American Kennel Club provides a list of some of the early, subtle signs of anxiety in dogs, including panting, yawning, pulling their lips back and behaving in inappropriate ways.

Since all of these can be normal dog behaviors, it’s crucial to pay close attention to any changes in their behavior.  If you think your dog is suffering from anxiety, contact your vet for treatment advice.
