Science Proves Your Dog Is Basically Magneto
As a dog owner, you have probably heard of the dogs’ proclivity towards pooping along the north-south axis. It was one of the weirdest things ever to come out about our four-legged friends and we all had a huge laugh about it.
Well, the latest study from the Max Planck Institute in Germany is suggesting something that is sort of related to this, but which would make your dog even more similar to Magneto (we’re presuming Magneto also has a preferred pooping axis).
Namely, they discovered the same molecule in the eyes of the dogs (as well as some other mammals, but we don’t care about them that much) which is presumed to enable the birds to sense magnetic fields. The name of the molecule is cryptochrome 1a and the name of this ability as magnetoreception.
The scientists can’t tell for sure if the presence of this molecule definitely means your dog can see magnetic fields, but they do believe they ruled out the majority of other reasons they would feature it.
