Dog Has Helped in the Recovery of the Remains of 200 People

Buster the cadaver dogs and his owner Paul Dostie, a retired police officer, have worked together for 12 years to help people find the remains of their loved ones.

Buster, a black Labrador retriever, and Paul also travel to war zones with History flight Inc. and track down fallen American veterans.  Although Buster is a real hero, he is not the only dog who helps in the recovery of the remains of murder victims and missing soldiers.

Cadaver dogs are specially trained dogs who can detect human residue and who were used after the September 11 attack and Hurricane Katrina.  They solve crimes and help many families find peace.  For instance, Buster helped find Lt. Robert Fenstermacher, an Army Air Corps pilot whose plane crashed in Belgium after being shot down in 1944 and the pilot’s great-nephew, Robert Fenstermacher Jr. thanked Buster and Paul at the funeral.

‘’(Now) we can finally say to Robert: “Welcome home. You served your country and family with honor and made us proud.’’
