Keeping Your Dog Safe On Christmas Day

For many humans, Christmas is the favorite day of the year. Since your dog is part of your family, you also want them to have an unforgettable time and enjoy the festive season.

Here are some guidelines on how to keep your pooch safe and happy on Christmas day:

  • Although your dog wants to be there when you open presents, keep them out of the room because it might become too exciting for them and could lead to problems or even injuries.
  • Also, make sure that all the decorations are out of your pooch’s reach. If they swallow wrapping paper, they will get sick and you will need to take them to the vet – the last thing you need and want for Christmas.
  • Since Christmas might be too much for your beloved pet to handle, take them for a long walk before all the excitement begins. This will help calm them down and they won’t be full of energy when your guests arrive.
  • Make sure that you have a quiet room in the house for your dog – if they become uncomfortable, they will want to have a place where they can relax.
  • In addition, keep the dog out of the dining room. Many people don’t know that some human foods are toxic to dogs and your guests might unintentionally feed your pooch something that can seriously harm their health.
  • Last but not least, always keep an eye on kids playing with your dog in order to avoid any accidents.
